After working for two years (from April 2008 – April 2010) as a volunteer committee of the Monadnock Farm and Community Connection Program, the Monadnock Community Market (MCM) Co-op formed its founding board of directors and incorporated as its own entity in April, 2010.
We plan to open a 12,000 sq. ft. store in the Railroad Square site in downtown Keene in 2012, and with your help we can stay on that timetable! Join today to help open our doors in less than a year and a half.
The Monadnock Community Market Co-op is a cooperatively owned food store that will focus on providing a diverse selection of local, organic, and natural foods to the Monadnock Region. Our Co-op will be a full-service food store, so you will be able do all of your shopping there.
What are the benefits of Co-op Membership?
- The real value to co-op membership is the co-op store that we will own together (that would not exist without us!) that will support the local farmers and producers in our region by offering a year-round, stable market.
- In Co-ops, “membership” means ownership. Our Co-op’s profit is returned to member-owners in proportion to the amount of business each member conducts with the cooperative. Cooperatives keep money, jobs and profits in the local community.
- Co-op ownership means putting your dollars where your values are: the cooperative system, healthy communities, making local food available year-round, creating local jobs that will stay in our region, and supporting local farms and businesses.
